BBC London Live

One of Kevin's early jobs in radio had been working on the BBC's London station, GLR. At it was local radio in London where he would end up again.

In March 2001, whilst also doing the supply work on Five Live's afternoon show, Kevin was brought in to co-host the Saturday Breakfast Show on GLR's replacement, London Live. He would present the news based programme with another presenter from the station, Amanda Hussain.

Again it seemed to be an odd combination. Like his show with Zoe Ball, Amanda and Kevin have very different approaches to presentation and the show did sometimes sound like a competition for the microphone. As well as being an odd combination, it seemed a bit of a waste of a talented DJ - especially one who was held in high regard by many fans of the former GLR, who were feeling disenfranchised from the new station.

However a better slot for Kevin was not what London Live had in mind. Without warning the show was canceled in September 2001 - the final one was to be on September 8, 2001 - just days after the announcement. The replacement would be the big name signing of Danny Baker. Amanda Hussain would remain on the station as an entertainment reporter, but Kevin would be out of a job again. It must have been another bitter blow.

Perhaps there was an indication that the show may never last - Kevin never even appeared on the station's presenters page on their website.
